Polytetrafluoroethylene is known as the "king of plastics", the father of fluororesin Roy Planck 1936 DuPont company in the United States began to study the substitutes of Freon. They collected some tetrafluoroethylene and stored them in cylinders for the next experiment the next day. However, when the cylinder pressure relief valve was opened the next day, no gas overflowed. They thought it was a leak, but when weighing the cylinder, they found that the cylinder did not lose weight. They saw through the cylinder and found a lot of white powder, which is polytetrafluoroethylene.

They found that polytetrafluoroethylene has excellent properties and can be used as anti melting sealing gasket for atomic bombs and shells. Therefore, the U.S. military kept the technology secret during World War II. It was not until the end of World War II that it was declassified and industrialized in 1946.

Teflon (Teflon) is a kind of high molecular compound which is polymerized by tetrafluoroethylene. Its structure formula is - [- cf2-cf2 -] n- It has excellent chemical stability and corrosion resistance. It is one of the best corrosion resistant materials in the world. Except molten metal sodium and liquid fluorine, it can resist all kinds of chemicals. It can not change when boiling in aqua regia. It is widely used in various occasions where acid-base resistance and organic solvent are needed. It has the features of sealing, high lubrication, non sticky, electrical insulation, good aging resistance and excellent temperature resistance (long term operation at +250 to -180 C). Teflon itself is not toxic to humans.

The operating temperature is - 190 ~ 250 ℃, allowing sudden cooling and heating, or alternate cold and hot operation.

    Pressure - 0.1 ~ 6.4Mpa (full vacuum to 64kgf / cm2)

It has solved many problems in chemical, petroleum, pharmaceutical and other fields. Polytetrafluoroethylene seal, gasket, gasket. PTFE seal, gasket, seal washer are made of suspension polymerized polytetrafluoroethylene resin molding. Compared with other plastics, polytetrafluoroethylene has the characteristics of chemical resistance, which has been widely used as sealing material and filling material.

As engineering plastics, it can be made into polytetrafluoroethylene pipe, rod, belt, plate, film, etc. It is generally used in corrosion-resistant pipes, containers, pumps, valves, radar, high-frequency communication equipment, wireless electrical equipment and so on. The dispersion can be used as insulating impregnant of various materials and anticorrosive coating on the surface of metal, glass and pottery. All kinds of PTFE ring, PTFE gasket, PTFE packing are widely used in all kinds of anticorrosive pipeline flange sealing. In addition, it can also be used for wire drawing, polytetrafluoroethylene fiber - fluorine fiber (foreign trade name is Teflon).

At present, PTFE Staple Fiber has played an important role in the national economy such as chemical industry, machinery, electronics, electrical appliances, military industry, aerospace, environmental protection and bridges.

PTFE Staple Fiber conditions industry Chemical, petrochemical, oil refining, chlor alkali, acid making, phosphate fertilizer, pharmaceutical, pesticide, chemical fiber, dyeing, coking, gas, organic synthesis, non-ferrous smelting, steel, atomic energy and polymer filter materials, production of high-purity products (such as ion-exchange membrane electrolysis), transportation and operation of viscous materials, food and beverage processing and production departments with strict health requirements.
